TL;DR: JumpCloud combines identity and cross-operating-system (OS) device management, so the right replacement depends on which piece you need. Teams already paying for Microsoft 365 tend to land on Entra ID plus Intune. Expect a trade: most alternatives replace one layer well and leave the other to a second tool.
Why Teams Are Leaving JumpCloud
Most JumpCloud exits start with a bill rather than a broken feature. JumpCloud rebuilt its packaging in April 2024 after surveying more than 800 customers, folding password management, patch management, passwordless access, and remote access into the packages instead of selling them as add-ons. Bigger packages mean fewer separate purchases. They also mean a team that wanted three of those capabilities now buys all of them.
That is the complaint practitioners raise in JumpCloud's own subreddit: the increase landed suddenly, and the packaged plans price in layers they do not use. A shop already running Jamf for its Macs, wanting only the directory and network authentication pieces, pays for a device layer it will never switch on. The free tier no longer softens the landing either, because new accounts get a 30-day trial instead of the free-for-ten-users plan that older accounts kept.
The counter-argument comes from the same threads and deserves weighing: an MSP who resells JumpCloud argues that nothing else does as much for the money, and that the hours spent running a stitched-together replacement erase the saving. That is the honest test for every option below.
How We Evaluated JumpCloud Alternatives
JumpCloud runs a cloud directory with single sign-on (SSO), manages devices across operating systems (MDM, mobile device management), and authenticates network access through LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service). Each alternative below is judged on starting price, G2 rating, best-fit use case, and which of those three layers it genuinely replaces. Ratings come from G2 and Gartner Peer Insights, the qualitative read from practitioner threads on Reddit and Hacker News. All eight serve companies of 50 to 1,000 employees, split across access management, device management, and HR-driven IT.
JumpCloud Alternatives at a Glance
Replacing JumpCloud usually costs two purchases rather than one. Some picks replace its directory and SSO, others replace its device management, and one product covers both by tying them to HR data.
No single pick restores JumpCloud's full directory-plus-MDM-plus-RADIUS bundle, which is why most of these choices get made in pairs. Linux server user accounts and SSH key management are a fourth layer, and only Okta reaches it, through a separate add-on.
Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) is a cloud identity and access management platform covering directory services, SSO, conditional access, and multi-factor authentication (MFA). It replaces JumpCloud's identity layer, and most teams pair it with Intune for device management.
Microsoft Entra ID Key Features
- Conditional Access: Policy-based access control that requires strong authentication, protects guest access, and restricts approved client apps, so zero-trust rules apply without extra tooling.
- Hybrid Active Directory (AD) sync: Entra Connect and Cloud Sync keep on-premises Active Directory synchronized, including disconnected forests, which matters for any org still running a domain. Cloud Sync does not synchronize devices.
- Multi-factor authentication: Policy-driven MFA applied across every app connected to Entra ID, so an MFA rollout does not have to be configured app by app.
- Identity governance add-on: Access reviews, entitlement management, and lifecycle workflows are available as an add-on. These features close the access-certification gap that pushes compliance-driven teams off JumpCloud in the first place.
Microsoft Entra ID Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Publishes a 99.99% monthly authentication service-level agreement (SLA) and reports approaching or exceeding 99.999% uptime in practice.
- Organizations already licensed for Microsoft 365 get the directory, hybrid AD sync, and basic MFA at no extra per-user cost.
- Supports auditable access certification for compliance-driven teams.
Cons:
- No native RADIUS: it requires the NPS (Network Policy Server) extension on a dedicated domain-joined Windows server, plus on-premises Active Directory behind it.
- Joining a Mac requires the Intune Company Portal, MDM enrollment, an SSO extension payload, and Microsoft Authenticator, a heavier path than JumpCloud's agent.
- Risk-based Identity Protection, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and full governance each sit behind separate paid add-ons.
What Users Say About Microsoft Entra ID
Sentiment splits along licensing lines: reviewers who already own Microsoft 365 describe a different product than those who bought Entra ID standalone.
- Buyers on the Microsoft stack call the bundling the deciding factor; one Hacker News administrator moved off Okta specifically to stop paying separately for MFA.
- Reviewers on G2 and Gartner Peer Insights consistently praise Conditional Access granularity and MFA depth.
- Administration draws the friction: Gartner reviewers criticize limited group-management controls and confusing API permissions, and a 2026 r/sysadmin thread recorded a tenant lockout that left admins unable to even open a support ticket.
User sentiment sourced from Gartner Peer Insights, Reddit, and Hacker News as of August 2026.
Microsoft Entra ID Pricing
- Free: included with Microsoft cloud subscriptions.
- Entra ID P1: $7.00/user/month (annual) with Conditional Access and advanced MFA.
- Entra ID P2: $10.00/user/month. It includes risk-based Identity Protection and PIM.
- Microsoft Entra Suite: $12.00/user/month. It combines network access, identity protection, governance, and identity verification.
- Entra ID Governance add-on: $7.00/user/month.
Pricing from Microsoft's Entra pricing page. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Teams already licensed for Microsoft 365 that can pair Entra ID with Intune and retire JumpCloud's directory without new per-user spend on the basics.
Look for Microsoft Entra ID alternatives if: You depend on JumpCloud's cloud RADIUS or manage Linux fleets; Entra ID covers neither natively.
Okta
Okta is a vendor-neutral workforce identity platform covering SSO, adaptive MFA, lifecycle management, and identity governance. Its app catalog and lifecycle tools provide a broad identity replacement for JumpCloud.
Okta Key Features
- Okta Integration Network: 8,000+ pre-built app integrations, so apps in the catalog connect for SSO and provisioning without custom SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) work.
- Universal Directory: Centralizes user profiles from Active Directory, LDAP, and HR applications into one directory. It can replace JumpCloud's identity source of truth.
- Lifecycle Management: SCIM-based (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) provisioning and deprovisioning, so account creation and revocation happen automatically across connected apps.
- Identity Threat Protection: Okta AI detects and responds to identity-based threats in real time.
Okta Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Supports dedicated identity management across varied SaaS stacks through prebuilt SSO and SCIM connections.
- Inbound SCIM is available free of charge to Workforce Identity customers, which eases migrations from another directory.
- Real-time identity threat detection and automated response through Okta AI.
Cons:
- No native device management; Macs and Windows machines still need Jamf or Intune alongside.
- Governance is thin for complex needs: reviewers describe it as an incomplete IGA (identity governance and administration) offering that struggles with complex access certifications.
- Cannot provision mailbox accounts for on-premises Exchange or hybrid Microsoft 365 environments.
What Users Say About Okta
Reviewers praise Okta's identity features but criticize its price.
- SSO and provisioning automation draw the strongest praise; reviewers describe onboarding and offboarding triggering access changes across every connected app at once.
- r/sysadmin practitioners rate Okta's low-code Workflows above Microsoft's equivalent, but call the platform overpriced for teams already licensed for Microsoft 365.
- Expense and setup complexity are the two most-cited negatives on G2, and admins describe the console as demanding specialized knowledge.
User sentiment sourced from Gartner Peer Insights and Reddit as of August 2026.
Okta Pricing
- Starter: $6/user/month with SSO, MFA, Universal Directory, and 5 Workflows.
- Core Essentials: $14/user/month. It includes Adaptive MFA and Lifecycle Management.
- Essentials: $17/user/month. It includes Access Governance, 50 Workflows, and Privileged Access for 2 admins.
- Professional and Enterprise: quote only. Both add Device Access and Identity Threat Protection; API Access Management and Access Gateway are Enterprise only.
- Contract minimum: a $1,500 annual minimum applies across plans.
Pricing from Okta's pricing page. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Companies past roughly 200 users on a non-Microsoft or multi-cloud stack that want identity handled by a specialist and already run, or plan to run, a separate MDM.
Look for Okta alternatives if: Your headcount is small enough that the annual contract minimum dominates the per-seat price, or you have no identity specialist to run the console.
OneLogin
OneLogin is a workforce identity platform focused on SSO and MFA at a lower entry point than Okta. It replaces JumpCloud's SSO, MFA, and part of its network authentication, while device management stays in a separate product.
OneLogin Key Features
- SSO with a broad app catalog: Thousands of prebuilt SAML and OIDC (OpenID Connect) connectors, so most SaaS apps connect without custom work.
- SmartFactor Authentication: Adaptive authentication with compromised-credential checks, which raises the bar against phished passwords.
- Cloud RADIUS and VLDAP: Wi-Fi and VPN authentication plus a cloud LDAP endpoint. This covers network authentication that most identity rivals skip and that JumpCloud leavers otherwise have to rebuild.
- HR directory sync: Workday, UKG, Namely, and BambooHR sync with role-based rules, so provisioning follows HR data.
OneLogin Pros and Cons
Pros:
- One of very few identity platforms that partially replaces JumpCloud's RADIUS and LDAP services.
- MFA breadth spans one-time-code apps, hardware tokens, and passkeys.
- Straightforward to stand up, with directory sync to Entra ID and Google Workspace.
Cons:
- Multiple extended downtimes reported by reviewers; reliability is the most consistent complaint.
- Limited APIs and slow support resolution flagged independently on G2 and Gartner Peer Insights.
- Feature velocity lags Okta and Microsoft, and custom SAML/OIDC apps still need manual configuration and testing.
What Users Say About OneLogin
Reviewers on G2 and Gartner Peer Insights return to the same two subjects: login consolidation and uptime.
- SSO consolidation and reduced password fatigue dominate the positives, with MFA called fast and reliable, including phone and Face ID factors.
- Outages are the recurring flag, and Service & Support is OneLogin's lowest-rated Gartner Peer Insights dimension.
- Reviewers describe it as simpler and cheaper than larger rivals but slower to ship critical features, with advanced identity capabilities remaining limited.
User sentiment sourced from Gartner Peer Insights as of August 2026.
OneLogin Pricing
- Basic: $3/user/month.
- Essentials: $6/user/month. It includes Entra ID and Google Workspace directory sync.
- Business: $10/user/month. It includes SmartFactor Authentication, HR directory sync, RADIUS, and VLDAP.
- Enterprise: quote only. It includes custom provisioning connectors and delegated administration.
- Workflows add-on: $2/user/month.
Pricing from OneLogin's pricing page. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Mid-market teams replacing JumpCloud's SSO, MFA, and network authentication together on a constrained budget, who can accept a smaller roadmap in exchange.
Look for OneLogin alternatives if: Uptime is non-negotiable for your login path, or you need a faster-moving set of advanced identity features.
Microsoft Intune
Microsoft Intune is a cloud-native unified endpoint management platform for Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android. It covers JumpCloud's MDM functions, while Entra ID supplies the identity half. The two are bought as a pair.
Microsoft Intune Key Features
- Cross-platform endpoint management: Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android from one console, so a mixed fleet does not need separate consoles per OS.
- Endpoint Privilege Management: Controlled privilege elevation without handing out local admin rights, available as an add-on.
- Advanced Analytics: Proactive endpoint analytics and anomaly detection, closing the reporting gap that sends JumpCloud users looking.
- Microsoft Cloud PKI: Fully automated certificate lifecycle management from a hosted public key infrastructure (PKI), useful for certificate-based Wi-Fi once JumpCloud's RADIUS is gone.
Microsoft Intune Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Included in the Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 bundles rather than sold separately.
- Autopilot-based zero-touch provisioning has become the default deployment path among managed service providers.
- Richer production reporting and alerting than JumpCloud, per sysadmins who have run both.
Cons:
- Apple management is functional but lacks Apple-native depth.
- Linux support is limited to Ubuntu LTS.
- No identity layer of its own; Entra ID or another identity provider is required alongside.
What Users Say About Microsoft Intune
Existing Microsoft 365 licensing drives many Intune decisions.
- r/msp practitioners name Entra ID plus Intune the primary destination for teams leaving JumpCloud, provided Microsoft 365 Business Premium or E3/E5 licensing is already in place; without that spend, the consolidation argument weakens.
- Sysadmins who evaluated both platforms report that JumpCloud's reporting and alerting look thinner than Intune's once in production, a gap that does not show up in a proof of concept.
- Hacker News practitioners note Microsoft's Mac and Linux endpoint management is not as strong as its Windows experience.
User sentiment sourced from Gartner Peer Insights, Reddit, and Hacker News as of August 2026.
Microsoft Intune Pricing
- Intune Plan 1: included in Microsoft 365 E3 and E5. Microsoft no longer publishes a standalone rate for it, so a quote is the only route outside those bundles.
- Intune Plan 2 add-on: $4.00/user/month.
- Add-ons: Remote Help $3.50, Endpoint Privilege Management $3.00, Advanced Analytics $5.00, Enterprise Application Management $2.00, and Microsoft Cloud PKI $2.00 per user/month.
- Bundle change: as of July 1, 2026, Microsoft 365 E3 includes Remote Help, Advanced Analytics, and Plan 2 at no extra cost.
Pricing from Microsoft's Intune pricing page. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Windows-heavy shops already licensed for Microsoft 365, where device management is effectively already paid for, and where Autopilot can standardize deployment.
Look for Microsoft Intune alternatives if: Your fleet is Apple-first, or you run Linux distributions beyond Ubuntu LTS.
Jamf
Jamf is an Apple-focused device management platform covering macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS, with Android supported under its mobile product. It replaces JumpCloud's MDM for Apple fleets with zero-touch deployment and same-day OS support.
Jamf Key Features
- Zero-touch deployment: Apple-native zero-touch enrollment with same-day support for new OS releases, so new hires receive configured Macs without IT touching the hardware.
- Endpoint protection and vulnerability management: Security tooling ships inside the Mac management product rather than as a separate purchase.
- Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA): Included with both Mac and mobile management, replacing part of JumpCloud's conditional access story.
- Jamf Connect: Identity and access management ships inside the Mac product rather than as a separate line item.
Jamf Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Apple-focused controls reduce the compromises of a general-purpose MDM.
- The deepest macOS and iOS configuration and security control among mainstream device managers.
- Covers the full Apple platform range, including tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS.
Cons:
- No Windows or Linux management; mixed fleets need a second tool.
- Still requires a separate directory and SSO layer for identity.
- Mac and mobile management are licensed as separate products, so full Apple coverage means running two.
What Users Say About Jamf
Jamf commentary in JumpCloud migration threads splits between Apple depth and the identity handoff.
- Reviewers credit same-day support for new Apple OS releases and the depth of macOS configuration as the reason Apple-heavy teams move off a general-purpose MDM.
- r/msp practitioners call JumpCloud's macOS MDM the weak half of the platform, which is the gap Apple-specialist tooling is bought to fill.
- On r/macsysadmin, admins pairing Jamf with Entra ID report unreliable enrollment and cloud-to-local password sync problems, so the identity handoff deserves testing before rollout.
User sentiment sourced from r/msp and r/macsysadmin as of August 2026.
Jamf Pricing
- Jamf Now: from $4/device/month for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS at organizations under 25 employees.
- Jamf for Mac: $12.50/macOS device/month billed annually, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, ZTNA, and Jamf Connect identity.
- Jamf for Mobile: $5.75/mobile device/month billed annually for iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, watchOS, tvOS, and Android, with mobile threat defense.
- Minimum: a 25-device minimum applies to all plans except Jamf Now.
Pricing from Jamf's pricing page. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Organizations standardized on Apple hardware end to end that want protection, vulnerability management, and ZTNA bundled with device management instead of bolted on.
Look for Jamf alternatives if: You manage Windows or Linux machines.
NinjaOne
NinjaOne is a unified endpoint management and RMM (remote monitoring and management) platform covering Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, and Android. It replaces JumpCloud's device layer for managed service providers and lean IT teams.
NinjaOne Key Features
- Automated patch management: Fleet-wide patching across operating systems, so endpoints stay current without manual cycles.
- Cross-OS device management: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, and Android in one console, including Linux, which Intune limits to Ubuntu LTS.
- Policy-based automation and scripting: A PowerShell and CMD library plus policy inheritance drives zero-touch onboarding for new machines.
- Integrated backup and remote access: Both live in the same platform. This cuts the tool count an IT team maintains.
NinjaOne Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Fast time to value: most users are fully operational in under a week.
- Named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Management Tools.
- FedRAMP Moderate authorization and GovRAMP listing open it to public-sector work most rivals cannot take.
Cons:
- Patch indicators can leave devices in an unclear state without distinguishing pending from failed updates.
- Role and permission scoping stops at the organization level rather than per site.
- Out-of-box reporting and ticketing customization are both limited.
What Users Say About NinjaOne
Support and usability drive NinjaOne's reviews on both the rating platforms and Reddit.
- Reviewers describe the console as clean and logical, and rate setup and support higher for NinjaOne than for JumpCloud.
- r/msp practitioners say the PowerShell scripting library drastically simplified new-PC deployment, and an active Discord with staff participation reinforces the support reputation.
- Cost draws the grumbles: small shops on r/msp flag per-endpoint pricing and monthly minimum commitments as unfriendly at very low device counts.
User sentiment sourced from Gartner Peer Insights and Reddit as of August 2026.
NinjaOne Pricing
- Per-endpoint, volume-tiered: $3.75/endpoint/month at 50 or fewer endpoints. It scales down to $1.50/endpoint/month at 10,000 endpoints.
- Free trial: 14 days, with free unlimited support included on all plans.
- Variation: pricing differs by region and products purchased.
Pricing from NinjaOne's pricing page. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Managed service providers and internal teams juggling patching, backup, remote access, and device management across mixed fleets who want one console for all of it.
Look for NinjaOne alternatives if: Your primary JumpCloud use is identity; there is no directory, SSO, or MFA here to migrate to.
ManageEngine Endpoint Central
ManageEngine Endpoint Central is a unified endpoint management platform available in both cloud and on-premises editions, covering Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, ChromeOS, tvOS, iPadOS, and IoT devices. It suits mid-market teams that prioritize deployment flexibility and OS coverage when replacing JumpCloud's device layer, especially where data-residency rules favor self-hosting.
ManageEngine Endpoint Central Key Features
- Broad patch management: Patches operating systems plus 1,000+ third-party apps, drivers, and BIOS. It reaches Linux distributions that most rivals ignore.
- Native vulnerability scanning: Continuous scanning with automated remediation is built in, a capability Intune does not carry.
- OS deployment and imaging (add-on): Hardware-independent deployment and disk imaging for standardized machine builds.
- Mobile device management: Zero Touch Enrollment, Samsung Knox, Apple Business Manager, and Windows Autopilot support across iOS, Android, and Windows mobile.
ManageEngine Endpoint Central Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Coverage extends past device management into software distribution, asset management, remote control, and browser security.
- Deployment flexibility across cloud, on-premises, and a dedicated managed-service-provider edition.
- Support described by reviewers as quick and responsive.
Cons:
- Dated, cluttered interface where common tasks sit several menus deep.
- On-premises upgrades frequently require manual steps and can fail outright.
- Deployments to more than 50 devices can take 40+ minutes.
What Users Say About ManageEngine Endpoint Central
Reviewers keep coming back to how much the platform covers, and to how it behaves once a fleet grows.
- Reviewers favor it for covering the whole device lifecycle, running OS deployment through patching, remote control, and mobile management without stitching separate tools together.
- NinjaOne rates higher on ease of use, setup, and support, which is what the breadth costs.
- On r/sysadmin, admins question the economics and depth: the on-premises model still requires annual maintenance fees for updates, and one practitioner describes it as limited for patching-focused use.
User sentiment sourced from Gartner Peer Insights and Reddit as of August 2026.
ManageEngine Endpoint Central Pricing
- Professional: $795/year on-premises or $1,045/year cloud for 50 endpoints; $8,945 on-prem or $11,245 cloud at 1,000 endpoints.
- Enterprise: from $945/year on-premises or $1,245/year cloud for 50 endpoints.
- UEM edition: from $1,095/year on-premises or $1,395/year cloud for 50 endpoints.

Pricing from ManageEngine's pricing page. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Mid-market teams with compliance or data-residency reasons to host on-premises, or fleets whose Linux and ChromeOS spread no other mainstream endpoint platform matches.
Look for ManageEngine Endpoint Central alternatives if: You prioritize a polished admin experience and painless upgrades over raw feature count.
Rippling IT
Rippling IT is the IT module of Rippling's HR platform. It combines identity and access management, cross-OS device management, inventory, and compliance automation driven by HR data. Among identity-plus-device platforms it comes closest to replacing both of JumpCloud's layers in one product and requires Rippling's HR system.
Rippling IT Key Features
- HR-driven lifecycle automation: Access and device policies update automatically on hire, role change, or exit. This closes the offboarding gap most stacks handle by ticket.
- Zero-touch device deployment: macOS, Windows, iOS, and iPadOS provisioning from a single platform.
- Automated compliance monitoring: Continuous SOC 2 and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) checks with one-click remediation instead of audit-time scrambles.
- 650+ app integrations: Including custom SCIM and SAML connectors for apps outside the catalog.
Rippling IT Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Replaces JumpCloud's identity layer, its device layer, and an HR information system with one vendor.
- Global device logistics: shipping, storage, and retrieval handled in 130+ countries.
- Employee, payroll, access, and device data share one record. This removes HR-to-IT handoffs entirely.
Cons:
- No cross-platform device policy for Linux, and patch management is only partial.
- Onboarding and offboarding workflow errors can get stuck in automated loops requiring support intervention, and regular employees cannot contact Rippling support directly.
- Practitioners describe lock-in and difficulty integrating with it through open APIs.
What Users Say About Rippling IT
Rippling's reviews need a filter: most come from HR and payroll users rather than IT buyers.
- The HR-linked automation is the standout; a G2-reviewing IT and systems manager describes running devices, access, pay, and time off from a single employee profile.
- r/ITManagers commenters trust JumpCloud more than Rippling for device management specifically, with some proposing split stacks (HR in Rippling, MDM elsewhere) instead of consolidating.
- IT-specific threads run more skeptical than the glowing aggregate reviews suggest, and Hacker News commenters object outright to giving HR authority over privileged identity and secrets.
User sentiment sourced from Gartner Peer Insights, Reddit, and Hacker News as of August 2026.
Rippling IT Pricing
- Quote-based and modular: identity and access management, device management, inventory, and compliance are sold as add-ons with no public price grid.
- Published starting point: Rippling's blog cites identity and access management starting at $8/user/month.
Pricing from Rippling's blog. Verified August 2026.
Best fit: Companies planning to run Rippling for HR or payroll anyway, where hire-to-exit automation across apps and devices justifies putting identity in the HR system.
Look for Rippling IT alternatives if: You run Linux endpoints, your IT team objects to HR-owned identity, or you are buying the IT module without Rippling's HR product and need transparent per-user pricing to compare vendors.
Where Siit Fits
Siit is not an identity provider and not a device manager, so it replaces none of what JumpCloud does. It is an AI Service Desk. Employees raise IT, HR, and Finance requests in Slack or Microsoft Teams. Siit routes each one to the team that owns it, and where a documented integration action exists, it executes the approved change against the connected system.
That layer survives the migration, because it sits above whichever pair of tools you land on. Siit's JumpCloud connector syncs device and directory data, which stays useful mid-switch. Through Okta, Siit can reset a password, suspend or activate a user, change group membership, and assign apps straight from a request. Entra ID connects for directory sync and group membership, with password resets staying with Okta, JumpCloud, or Google Workspace. Jamf and Intune sync device inventory and let admins lock or wipe a device from the ticket.
Rippling and other HR systems sync employee data one way, into Siit, which gives every request role and manager context without anyone typing it in. Across 500+ connectable apps, whichever pair replaces JumpCloud, the request layer stays in chat.
FAQs
How much does JumpCloud cost in 2026?
JumpCloud sells packages priced per user per month. Device Management starts at $9 per user billed annually, SSO at $11, and Device Identity Management at $13, with each rising by $2 on monthly billing. Platform Essentials, Platform, and Platform Prime are quote-only, and Platform Essentials caps out at 300 users. Individual features can also be bought a la carte from $3 per user per month billed annually, which is how teams that only need the directory or only need RADIUS keep the bill down.
Is JumpCloud still free for up to 10 users?
Not on a new account. Accounts old enough to predate the change keep a legacy free tier of 10 users and 10 devices, and JumpCloud has not withdrawn it from them. Some older JumpCloud resource pages still advertise the first 10 users as free forever, which is where most of the confusion comes from, and the current pricing page does not carry the offer.
How hard is it to migrate off JumpCloud?
The identity half is the easier one: SAML metadata gets re-pointed app by app, SCIM provisioning is rebuilt in the new provider, and both Okta and Microsoft Entra ID document inbound SCIM for importing users. Device re-enrollment creates the main migration risk. JumpCloud's Windows MDM reinstalls its agent if a user removes it, so removal has to start from the Admin Portal. On a Mac the order matters even more: pull MDM enrollment before the device record is fully deleted there, and the machine loses Full Disk Access and ends up broken. For Apple fleets, macOS 26 and iOS 26 add a built-in MDM migration path through Apple Business Manager that removes the old factory-reset requirement.
Do you need to replace JumpCloud's cloud RADIUS when you switch?
Yes, if Wi-Fi, VPNs, switches, or other network devices authenticate through it. JumpCloud supports credential-based and certificate-based RADIUS, so identify which method each dependency uses before choosing a replacement. The replacement must be ready before JumpCloud's service is disconnected.
What replaces JumpCloud's Linux server user management?
Okta is the only option here that reaches it, through Advanced Server Access, and that sits outside the base suites as a separate purchase. JumpCloud provisions user accounts and SSH keys onto servers directly.
